  2. You are an inspiration! I am a non-traditional student and Army veteran working completing a second degree in biology/health science. I worry about not ever being accepted to medical school, but your blog and all the other friendly folks on the old premeds and SDN site keep me inspired. I look forward to reading more about your medical school journey. Also, congratulations! Rey

    1. Thank you, Rey! And I think most of us have or have had the worry of never being accepted into medical school. I'm living proof that it's possible, even if it takes a little longer than what you want it to be. Best of luck to you on your journey, and thank you for taking the time to read my blog :-)

    2. Hey Rey be sure to put USUHS, the military medical school, on your list.

    3. Yes! I completely forgot about that! Just be aware that with USUHS you have to commit to 7 years of active duty after graduation. Also, if you're still involved with the military I believe you'll need an approval letter.

  3. I am so inspired by your story I want to attend pcom in philly but i have a 3.5 with repeats . The masters programs there is nice but I don't want to attend and then I don't end up matriculating into the school.

    1. My GPA was a whole lot lower than yours even with repeats. Don't let one little aspect of your application stop you from pursuing what you want to do in life.

  4. WOAH! I have been contemplating on starting a Youtube channel to do everything that you are doing with your blog. I am also a single mother and I have had such a tough time continuing my education. I want to give up on my bachelors now (and this is my "senior year")...leaving medical school as a hopeless dream of mine. I have not looked around this site just yet but stumbling upon it has brought me to tears. There ARE people like me who understand what I am probably going through. For that I thank you! Will definitely be giving your site many visits!!

    1. I'm so glad you found me! Wanting to let single mothers and nontraditional students know that there were people out there like them was a major reason why I started this blog. Please do not give up on your dreams, because it is definitely possible to succeed. Wishing you all the best!

  5. Danielle,

Coming across your blog has been a true inspiration during a time in my life that i needed it the most. I have been wrestling with the idea of Re-Applying to PA school after 1 failed attempt, and the fear I felt just thinking about embarking on that journey again paralyzed me for a whole year. I can honestly say that at this very moment I no longer feel terrified, I feel motivated to again continue on my journey and reach my dreams that I have been working so hard to achieve! I know my son will one day be proud of me, and thanks to you I know I am not alone trying to reach a goal that seems unattainable some days. Thank you!
